RivCo Names Rachelle Román As New Director Of Office On Aging
Riverside County taps a 23-year public service veteran to lead aging services as the region's senior population continues to grow.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Riverside County has appointed veteran public servant Rachelle Román as the new Director of the Office on Aging, tasking her with helping the county meet the rapidly expanding needs of its older adult population.
Román brings 23 years of experience in public service, including leadership roles in aging services, public health, fiscal oversight, and program administration. She will now oversee programs that support more than 550,000 seniors — a demographic that continues to grow across the region, the County of Riverside said.
“Rachelle’s many years of service and expertise are an asset to the Office on Aging," Supervisor V. Manuel Perez, Chairman of the Riverside County Board of Supervisors said. “We look forward to her new role leading this department and continuing the efforts to support our seniors in making Riverside County and all our communities a great place to live.”

"I am honored to lead the Office on Aging and to continue supporting the seniors who are the foundation of our communities," Román said. "With a dedicated team and strong partnerships across the county, we will expand innovative, accessible services that promote dignity, independence, and quality of life for Riverside County’s older adults."

Román first joined the Office on Aging in 2013 as the Deputy Director of Administration, where she oversaw budget and fiscal operations, contracts and grants, human resources, information technology and senior nutrition programs. After later serving in the Department of Public Health, where she managed a $220 million budget, she returned to the Office on Aging as Assistant Director in July.
Her extensive background in aging services, fiscal stewardship and large-scale program administration aligns closely with the agency’s mission, positioning her to strengthen service delivery, expand outreach, and help the department meet the evolving needs of Riverside County’s aging and disability communities.
