Santa Rosa Plateau Nature Education Foundation Offering Grants
Programs or projects focused on nature, environmental and science education, and climate literacy will be given first consideration.

MURRIETA, CA — The Santa Rosa Plateau Nature Education Foundation announced Tuesday it is offering grant money to support programs and projects for youth in grades 6-12.
Middle and high school teachers, and nonprofit or agency environmental and outdoor education providers working with youth in the Lake Elsinore, Wildomar, Menifee, Perris, Hemet/San Jacinto, Corona-Norco, Murrieta and Temecula communities are now invited to submit requests via the foundation's annual Nature Education Small Grant Program.
Grant awards range from $500 to $5,000.

New or existing programs or projects focused on nature, environmental and science education, and climate literacy activities that foster the development of “champions of the environment” will be given first consideration, according to the foundation.
Awardees will be required to present their funded project/program before the SRPNEF Board of Directors, members and various sponsors and donors.

SRPNEF will administer the grant process, selection, and grant awards.
The application process is open through May 1. Awards will be announced in June.

• Environmental education support groups/project/clubs
• Nonprofit outdoor/environmental/science education providers
What will be funded:
• Collaborative projects or programs with classrooms, school districts, nonprofits, private and charter schools
• Programs or projects that demonstrate STEM, NGSS or EEI alignment
• Projects that focus on climate literacy and addressing climate change
• Field trips/afterschool/weekend projects
• Science/research projects
• Class/community gardens
• Project-based staff support/in-class supplies
What will NOT be funded:
• Conference fees
• Political or religious initiatives
