SCE Working to Restore Electricity to 100 Murrieta Residents

The power went out for some 100 Murrieta residents Thursday night, and Southern California Edison said crews are working to restore it.

The outage caused by equipment failure began at 7:26 p.m., according to Paul Netter, an SCE spokesman.

Residents in an area bordered by Jefferson Avenue to the north, Washington Avenue to the south, Nutmeg Street to the east, and Mountain Song to the west were affected, Netter said.

As of 9:30 p.m., he said troubleshooters were on scene but could not give an estimated hour when electricity may be restored.

"It is probably an underground situation...a bad transformer or cable," Netter told Patch.
