Students Join Seniors for Mother's Day Crafting

Fourth Graders from Cole Canyon Elementary helped Vineyard Place residents create cards for Mother's Day.

Fourth Graders and seniors with dementia created Mother’s Day cards together at Vineyard Place, an Anthem Memory Care community at 24325 Washington Ave., Murrieta. The youngsters, who are students in Mrs. Calvillo-Murray’s class at Cole Canyon Elementary School, helped make the cards so that each resident could write sweet Mother’s Day messages on them.

“Our seniors cherish spending time with the youngsters, and it brings them great joy to share happy memories of their past,” said Christopher Balmes, life engagement director for Vineyard Place. “Celebrating special holidays is a great way to connect the two generations.”
