ACC Grass Roots Cribbage Club Tournament #26 Summary

There were 11 players last week, decreasing the players per tournament average to 11.89. For the second week in a row, Rich Hammock was on fire. Winning his first seven games, his bid for another Grand Slam was stopped this week in game 8 by Theo Mattingly. Rich’s 14/7 scorecard took first place, closely followed by Jim Perry with a 14/6 scorecard. Theo Mattingly earned GRPs this week with a third place finish with a 13/6 scorecard. Loren Lookabill finished with a fourth place 12/5 scorecard, increasing his Club GRP lead by a 38 point lead over Theo Mattingly (109), who is leading a very tight knit group (Farokh Ziari @ 108, Tracy Yott @ 107, Craig Rothbach @ 106 and Rich Hammock @ 103). Lurking in the hunt just behind them are Wayne Morris (98) and Jim Perry (95).

There were five 24-point hands held by three different people: Rich Hammock (1), Theo Mattingly (2) and Carol Witt (2).

Jim Perry continues to lead the club in third quarter GRPs (55) and Win % (61.1%). With one tournament remaining in the third quarter, can he maintain the momentum into the fourth quarter? He’ll have to keep up with Rich Hammock who has earned 30 GRPs with a 73.7% win percentage in the last two tournaments.
