ACC Grass Roots Cribbage Club Tournament #27 Summary

Results of weekly round-robin, 9-game tournament.

(American Cribbage Congress (https://www.cribbage.org/))

There were 14 players this week, increasing the players per tournament average to 11.96. We welcomed former club member Margaret Christensen-Deutsch to the tournament. Carol Witt won her final six games to firmly secure first place with a 15/7 scorecard. Jim Perry won his first five games then waited to win his final game to take second place with the best 12/6 card of the evening and continue his third quarter dominance (67 GRPs (Grass Roots Points), 61.7 win %). Theo Mattingly won his last 4 games to take third place with a 12/6 scorecard and took a healthy bite out of Loren Lookabill’s club GRP lead. Congratulations to Kelsey Potter for earning her first GRPs. She did what many of us wish we could do; she won her final two games to finish with a 12/6 scorecard. This accomplishment has been a long time coming, with many close finishes (11/5 twice, 10/5 twice, 10/4 once). Four players wished they could have won just one more game to get GRPs.
Although Rich Hammock and Marty Froomin started early with 20-point hands, it was Jim Perry and Tracy Yott finishing the evening with 24-point hands.
This tournament marks the end of the third quarter and 75% completion of the Grass Roots season with 9 tournaments remaining. The season GRP standings are as follows:
