Alameda County Hosting Diversity Conference

Disability employment awareness will be one of the topics discussed.


Alameda County officials announced the county will host a disability employment awareness training sessions in Oakland in October for managers in the area.
 
Organizers say the conference will spotlight topics such as workplace needs that are relevant to disabled workers. Keynote speaker will be Phyllis Cheng, who is the director of California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing. Motivational speaker Jessica Cox will also present her perspectives.  

The "The 10th Annual Countywide Disability Employment Awareness Conference and Training" is open to non-profit agencies, businesses, and government organizations that work with disabled employees, or are interested in the topic.

It will be held from 8:30- 5 p.m. at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center, located at 388 9th Street #290, in Oakland, California
