
NEWARK, CA — One person was killed and four others were injured in a major crash on Interstate Highway 880 late Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The names of the victims have not been released. The conditions of the survivors is unknown.
The four-vehicle crash was reported at 11:10 a.m. on southbound I-880 just north of the Stevenson Boulevard exit.

Within minutes, Alameda County Fire Department had a crew at the scene performing CPR on a patient. Other patients were transported to the hospital for treatment.
The crash blocked three lanes of the interstate, causing a backup that went for miles.
