Mark Those Calendars; Newark Has Announced It Will Host A Community Clean Up Event Oct. 8.

The community clean up event will be held Saturday, Oct. 8 from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Newark Service Center and is open to all city residents.

NEWARK, CA — The city of Newark and Republic Services will host a community clean up event Saturday, Oct. 8 from 7 to 11 a.m. at the Newark Service Center, 37440 Filbert Street for all residents to dispose of items they may have lying around the house.

In order to participate residency must be verified so all Newark residents should bring a utility bill with a Newark address and a matching California driver’s license or identification with a Newark address.

Accepted items at the event include appliances, bulky trash, e-waste, furniture, mattresses, metals and untreated wood, reusable household goods and tires.

Hazardous waste such as batteries, paint, motor oil, chemicals, light bulbs, etc., Construction debris, including rock, concrete and painted wood, propane tanks, gas cylinders and lawn mowers will not be accepted at the event.
