Newark To Host Measure GG Oversight Committee's Annual Meeting
Measure GG is a voter approved, one-half percent transactions and use, or sales, tax that is directed towards replacement of city buildings.
NEWARK, CA — The city of Newark will host the Measure GG annual oversight committee meeting Thursday, Nov. 16 and the general public is invited to attend, the city said.
"Members of the public may attend the meeting in person, watch online, or watch on Cable Channel 26," the city said.
Beginning at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 37101 Newark Boulevard, the meeting will feature a time for public comments on any item listed or not listed on the agenda. Public comments are generally limited to 5 minutes per speaker, the city said in the agenda for the meeting.

To submit a written public comment, send an email to the city clerk by clicking here by 3 p.m. the day of the meeting. Be sure to include the agenda item number in the subject line of the email. Emails will be compiled into one file and will be distributed to the committee before the meeting, the city said.
During the meeting there will be a review of Measure GG revenues and expenditures for the past fiscal year, the draft annual report will be reviewed and there will be an election of for the roles of chair and vice chair for the committee.

Measure GG is a voter approved, one-half percent transactions and use (sales) tax in the city that began April 1, 2017. Funds raised using Measure GG are used towards the replacement of the Civic Center buildings.
The Transactions and Use Tax Oversight Committee reviews semi -annual revenue and expenditure reports and information related to the Transactions and Use Tax. The Committee provides City Council with a report annually.
Committee members are appointed by the mayor, with the approval of the Newark City Council.
