Sunday BART Service Disruptions Expected

NEWARK, CA — If you're planning to use BART on Sunday, build extra time into your schedule or change the station you use to avoid the issue.

BART crews plan to replace traction power cables that provide electricity for trains. The team expects to replace approximately 1,200 linear feet of traction power cable in Union City.

That means if you plan to use BART on Sunday, delays of 15-20 minutes between Union City and Fremont are expected because of single tracking.

If you are heading north, use the Union City station to sidestep the delay.

The cable replacement project is expected to continue the weekends of Oct. 2-3 and Oct. 16-17.
