Alert: Road Work Around Newport Beach
Several construction projects are underway in Newport Beach causing slight traffic impacts and the need for alternate routes.

Road crews have begun work on a few projects in Newport Beach that might add a few more minutes to motorists' drive times.
- Jamboree Road at Coast Highway - Maintenance work is being done on traffic signals on Jamboree Road and Coast Highway. According to the city, the project includes rewiring the traffic signal and installing new traffic control equipment. In addition, slight modifications will be made to the median to enhance bicycle passage. Motorists should expect some lane closures and times when the traffic signal will not be working. Don't forget! When a traffic signal is not working, or on red flash, all vehicles, bicycles and/ or pedestrians are required to make a complete stop. The work is expected to wrap up at the end of the month.
- Newport Boulevard at 32nd Street - A contractor for the Gas Company is making repairs to the gas main located in the Newport Boulevard roadway at 32nd Street. The road work is estimated to take approximately two more weeks to complete. Motorists should know the southbound right lane on Newport Blvd. will be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and lane closures on 32nd Street will be allowed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Anyone with questions or concerns about any of these projects should contact the Public Works Department at 949-644-3311.
