Costa Mesa, CA--One person was shot this morning in a Costa Mesa neighborhood near South Coast Plaza, authorities said. The shooting was reported at 2:24 a.m. in the 2900 block of Babb Street, according to a Costa Mesa police dispatcher. Detectives were at the scene investigating the shooting, she said. The victim was taken to Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana, a news videographer reported from the scene.More on this story as it develops.
