It's Earth Day in Newport Beach
Join the global eco-celebration today by participating in local events.

It's Earth Day, the day when the citizens of Planet Earth mobilize for an eco-celebration.
Around the world, 176 countries will stage events to commemorate the annual event, but there are several options here in Newport Beach:
- Earth Day at the Bay: Today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Newport Bay Conservancy's 22nd annual Earth Day celebration will be held at the OC Parks Peter and Mary Muth Interpretive Center, 2301 University Dr. The event will include environmental exhibits, scavenger hunts for all ages, science discovery, craft booths and more. Get more information here.
- A collection truck for All Green Electronics Recycling will also be located in the Interpretive Center parking lot at the Earth Day at the Bay event today to accept all your electronic waste. Computer monitors, printers, fax machines, scanners, paper shredders, copy machines, televisions, radios, microwave ovens, stereo systems and any other electronics are encouraged to be recycled. If you are not able to drop items off on Sunday, call All Green Electronics at 800-780-0347 to schedule a pick-up.
- The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is encouraging customers to bring in their favorite mug or tumbler and you’ll receive 20 cents off your beverage of choice.
