Man Bites Officer, Fires Gun In Police Department Lobby, Authorities Say: Report

A 29-year-old man allegedly bit and officer and fired an officer's gun after barging into the Fountain Valley Police Department's lobby.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA — A 29-year-old man was arrested for biting an officer and firing an officer's gun after barging into the Fountain Valley Police Department's lobby, KTLA 5 reported.

The suspect, identified as Fountain Valley resident Walter Corea Sanchez, entered the department's lobby just before 10 a.m. on Dec. 19 and began "acting erratically" when officers tried to speak with him, the report said.

As the situation escalated, Sanchez apparently took an officer's gun and fired a round, the report said. According to the report, Sanchez also bit an officer. No injuries were reported.
