Parking Garage Thief Caught on Surveillance Photo

The man can be seen leaving with a bicycle from an underground parking garage. Police encourage residents to get in the habit of reporting suspicious activity, vehicles or people to the Newport Beach Police Department.

A man who is suspected of stealing a bicycle from an underground Newport Beach parking garage was captured on surveillance photos, police reported.

The incident happened at a parking garage in the 600 block of Lido Park Drive on Wednesday, April 11 at 3:48 a.m. Police say the unknown suspect entered the underground parking garage through the security gate and stole a bicycle. He can be seen on surveillance photos in the parking garage with an Electra Amsterdam 7 speed, green bike.

Police say the man has brown hair and a goatee and was last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt and baseball cap. He fled the garage with the help of a second unknown suspect in a white Jeep Cherokee, older boxy body style with tinted windows which can also be seen on the surveillance photos.
