NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A Chilean national was arrested in Newport Beach for burglary charges, the Newport Beach Police Department reported. Police officers were dispatched to the area of East Coast Highway and Pelican Point at 8:56 p.m. on the night of Friday, Jan. 31. Newport Beach Police officers, along with a K9 unit and a helicopter manned by the Huntington Beach Police Department, responded to the scene. A Chilean national was arrested at the scene. He was identified as 30-year-old Christopher A. Ramirezsilva, resident of Santiago, Chile. He was taken into custody with arrest charges including suspicion of Residential Burglary and Possession of a Controlled Substance. No further information was immediately available.
