Man, 30 Killed In Huntington Beach Motorcycle Crash
A 30-year-old motorcyclist slammed into a utility pole in Huntington Beach and was killed, authorities said Saturday.
HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — A 30-year-old motorcyclist slammed into a utility pole in Huntington Beach and was killed, authorities said Saturday.
The biker was later identified as Tommy Duong of Santa Ana, according to the Orange County coroner's office.
The crash occurred on Brookhurst Street south of Effingham Drive at 7:50 p.m. Friday, according to Sgt. Matthew Austin of the Huntington Beach Police Department.

A preliminary investigation determined the rider was going north on Brookhurst from Hamilton Avenue when, for unknown reasons, he veered to the right and crashed into the pole. The impact of the crash threw the rider onto the street, Austin said.
Duong suffered extensive injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, Austin said.
