Meet the Real Jerry Maguire at Newport Beach Library

Sports agent Leigh Steinberg will be discussing 40-year career.

Sports agent Leigh Steinberg, who was the inspiration behind the film “Jerry Maguire,” will speak about the rise and fall of his 40-year career 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14 in the Central Library Friends Room, Newport Beach.

Steinberg, who has represented over 150 professional athletes, is the author “The Agent: My 40-Year Career Making Deals and Changing the Game.” Once the most powerful sports agent in the country, Steinberg will talk about his masterful rise, his crushing personal and professional fall, and his inspiring personal story of recovery and determined redemption in the high-stakes world of professional sports.
