Newport Businessman Establishes $10,000 Scholarship

Don Brinkerhoff, founder of Newport Beach-based Lifescapes International Inc., graduated from Cal Poly in 1952 and is now giving back to his alma mater.

Newport Beach businessman Don Brinkerhoff might have left Cal Poly Pomona 60 years ago, but his alma mater never left him.

The founder and chairman of Lifescapes International Inc. has established a $10,000 annual scholarship, the largest ever awarded in the College of Environmental Design.  The scholarship is for a second- or third-year landscape architecture student, and it is unrestricted, meaning the recipient can use it for whatever their needs might be.

Brinkerhoff graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in 1952 with a degree in ornamental horticulture.  Click here to read more about the landscape architect and businessman.
