State Exposes Newport Beach Tax Delinquents
The Franchise Tax Board says four Newport Beach residents owe almost $900,000 in state income tax.

Just in time for tax day, the state has issued a list of the 500 people who owe the most in state income tax.
Four Newport Beach residents made the list. Collectively, Dave R. Wong, Vicktor Grauaug and James P. and Nancy L. Baldwin owe almost $900,000 to the state, according to the Franchise Tax Board.
Wong owes $329,412.74, and a lien was placed on him Dec. 18, 2009. The Baldwins owe $325,137.52, and a lien was placed on them July 15, 2011. Grauaug owes $244,153.37, and a lien was placed on him May 20, 2003.

Last year the legislature gave the FTB more power and required them to publish more tax delinquents twice a year. The boards new powers include the ability to request that other states help collect California's income tax debts.
The board can now release the professions and professional license numbers of tax delinquents, too.
