Two Firework Displays Scheduled for Newport Pier

From Newport Beach Police Department: On Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at approximately 6:15 p.m., the Boat Parade will open with a fireworks display off the Newport Pier. (The pier will be closed from approximately 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14 until approximately 6:00 a.m.Thursday, December 15).

A second fireworks display will take place Sunday, December 18, 2016 at approximately 9:00 p.m. off the Balboa Pier to mark the closing night of the Boat Parade. (The pier will be closed from approximately 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 18 until approximately 6:00 a.m. Monday, December 19).
Here are some tips to minimize the impact of the loud noises associated with fireworks:

• Bring pets indoors during the fireworks display and, if possible, secure them in an inner room which is least impacted by exterior noise
• Close all doors and windows
• Close window coverings to further dampen the noise
• Use television and/or radio to offset the noise
