2 Killed In Victory Boulevard Head-On Crash

The crash shut down the busy thoroughfare early Tuesday morning as police continued to investigate the cause.

WOODLAND HILLS, CA — A head-on crash near Piece College killed two people and shut down Victory Boulevard for hours overnight.

According to Los Angeles Police Department investigators, two drivers were killed at about 11:30 p.m. Monday on Victory Boulevard near Mason Avenue when a driver headed eastbound crossed over into the westbound lanes, causing the head-on crash.

The driver of a white sedan and SUV were both killed in the crash. Los Angeles Fire Department crews worked to free one of the drivers from the wreckage.

“I saw at least 15 to 20 firemen … using the jaws of life to get out the victims,” witness Justin Hunter told KTLA.

Both drivers were men in their 20s, according to the LAPD. One died at the scene of the crash and the other was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Authorities have not publicly identified the crash victims pending notification of next-of-kin. the investigation into the cause of the crash remained ongoing Tuesday morning.
