4 New Shops Bring Tattoos, Haircuts, Bikes, Levi's to NoHo
Four businesses have opened their doors in North Hollywood recently, and Patch dropped in to welcome them to the neighborhood.
Ol' Glory Tattoo, 4822A Vineland Ave., 818-760-2218.
The owner of Ol' Glory, Jason Keith, is an aficionado of what he calls "traditional American tattooing." The walls of his shop on Vineland are covered with samples of his artwork: ships, skulls, butterflies, scantily-clad women, hearts, and scantily-clad women holding hearts. Keith is happy to take appointments over the phone, and even happier for people to just walk into his store and take a seat.

This is right next door to Ol' Glory. Co-owner Kristina Austin told Patch that the store had been in the area for 15 years; its previous location was on Lankershim near Universal Studios. Austin said that the salon specializes in color, hair extensions and Brazilian blowouts.
Larry's Levi's, Boots, Gym Wear & Collectibles, 5018 Lankershim Blvd., 818-515-1884.

Larry Pearson's is eclectic, as the name of the store suggests. Take a look in here for vintage furniture and clothing, cowboy boots, antiques and assorted collectibles. When Patch passed by, Pearson had an assortment of interesting looking old desks out on the sidewalk, as well as a wide array of vintage clothing in the window, including jackets emblazoned with images of Marilyn Monroe and Jimi Hendrix.
State Bicycle Co., 11223 1/2 Magnolia Blvd, 818-761-6434.
This is the of the State Bicycle Co., which is headquartered in Tempe, Arizona and, according to Co-owner Eric Ferguson, does much of its business online. The company specializes in fixed gear/single speed bikes. Ferguson, who is based in Tempe, told Patch that he thought there was "a nice presence in California for our product" and that the company decided to expand their presence. , so it looks like State has come to the right place.
