A woman suspected of driving under the influence was in custody Friday morning after she clipped the motorcycle of a retired Los Angeles police officer providing traffic control at an HBO film shoot in North Hollywood, authorities said.
The retired officer was not injured in the crash, which happened around 11:15 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Lankershim Boulevard and Kling Street, said Sgt. Richard Brunson of the Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division.
The driver, who was in her mid-20s, was arrested on suspicion of DUI, he said, adding that the officer was slowing traffic when the woman tried to pass him and clipped the bike's mirror.
