Kicking off the night will be a brief conversation with FOLLIES Associate Director David Ruttura and Tony Award® nominated cast member Danny Burstein to be moderated by Playbill Journalist and Time Warner Cable/NY-1 News theatre reporter Frank DiLella. Together they will discuss Sondheim’s role in relation to the film Gypsy and the current stage revival of Follies at the Ahmanson Theatre. Immediately after, we will screen Gypsy featuring Rosalind Russel as Mama Rose, the quintessential stage mom, Natalie Wood as the iconic stripper Gypsy Rose Lee, and Karl Malden as family suitor and Vaudeville agent. Don’t miss this unique and talent-filled evening! Festivities to include a Follies ticket give-away starting at 7:30pm with the film to begin at approximately 8:00pm. Remember to arrive early to secure your seat!

Our evening is sponsored by Follies, May 3 through June 9 at the Ahmanson Theatre. Nominated for eight 2012 Tony Awards® including Best Musical Revival! Called "white-hot … and moving!" by the New York Times, Follies pays homage to the Vaudeville era with a 28-piece orchestra, music by the legendary Stephen Sondheim and an all-star cast including Tony Award-winner Victoria Clark and Tony Award nominees Jan Maxwell and Danny Burstein.
