Governors Ball Canceled; Academy Will Host Parties At NoHo Office

The gatherings will take place before the Emmys and will "honor nominees across the numerous peer groups," the Television Academy said.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — In place of the traditional post-Emmys Governors Balls, this year the Television Academy will host a group of smaller nominee celebrations at its North Hollywood headquarters.

All Governors Ball events were canceled for the second year in a row. Much like last year, the Television Academy decided to forgo them "due to ongoing concerns and public health mandates regarding the COVID-19 pandemic," the Academy said in a statement on Wednesday.

"Instead, the Academy will host a series of enhanced Emmy Nominee Celebrations in advance of the Emmys at its NoHo Arts District campus," the statement said. "These intimate-themed gatherings will honor nominees across the numerous peer groups."
