Hostage Situation Ends With Gunman In Cuffs: Police

A shooting suspect help two people hostage including a woman in her 90s for hours overnight in Lake View Terrace, according to police.

LAKE VIEW TERRACE, CA — An hours-long standoff between an allegedly armed man who was holding two people, including a woman in her 90s, and a LAPD SWAT team in Lake View Terrace ended Friday morning with the man giving himself up, according to a report from the scene.

It ended at about 3:40 a.m. when the man walked out of the home on the 12100 block of Hoyt Street and surrendered to officers, NBC4 reported. He had been barricaded inside the home since about 8 p.m. Thursday after officers responded to a shots fired call at the residence.

The two people he is suspected of holding inside were not hurt, according to NBC4.

Detectives are trying to determine if the man was involved in a shooting at Gladstone Avenue and Van Nuys Boulevard Thursday night that left one person hurt, NBC 4 reported.

The gunshot victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
