Man Barricades Himself in Home for Three Hours During Standoff with LAPD
Burbank Boulevard was closed between Coldwater Canyon Avenue and Bellaire Avenue during the standoff.
A man who allegedly threatened to kill his mother and commit suicide barricaded himself inside a home in North Hollywood today for more than three hours.
Burbank Boulevard was closed between Coldwater Canyon Avenue and Bellaire Avenue during the standoff, which began just before 1 p.m. in the 12800 block of Burbank Boulevard, Richard French of the Los Angeles Police Department told the City News Service.
"The mother of the subject says he is a drug addict and he is threatening to commit suicide and to kill her,'' French said.

The woman was able to get out of the home safely, but police blocked off streets in the neighborhood as they tried to coax the suspect out of the house. The man, whose name and age were not available, was taken into custody without incident around 4 p.m. and driven away in an ambulence
