Man Fatally Shot After Fight With Neighbor Over Loud Music: LAPD

The victim, 35, was shot in his apartment building early Saturday morning after a dispute with the man who lived below him.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — A North Hollywood man died in a homicide at his apartment building early Saturday morning after a heated dispute with his neighbor over loud music.

LAPD's North Hollywood division responded to a call for a shooting in the 6800 block of Coldwater Canyon Avenue at around 2:40 a.m. Saturday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. There, officers found the victim, 35-year-old Eduard Avetisyan, who had been shot numerous times and died at the scene.

The suspect, 66-year-old Onik Derhovansian, remained at the scene and turned himself in to the officers that were present, the LAPD said. He was placed under arrest.

An investigation found that the shooting came after a heated argument over loud music. Avetisyan lived in the apartment above Derhovansian. Derhovansian confronted Avetisyan about the loud music he was playing and demanded he come downstairs.

"When the victim came downstairs, the suspect shot him multiple times," the LAPD said in a news release.
