Man Fatally Shot In North Hills, Suspect At Large

Police said a man walked up to and fatally shot a man who was sitting in his car Monday night.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — A man was fatally shot in North Hills Monday night, with police asking for the public's help to identify and arrest a suspect.

Around 11:45 p.m. Monday night, police were patrolling near Sepulveda Boulevard and Superiors Street when they heard multiple gunshots, the Los Angeles Police Department said. Officers saw a white Toyota Corolla in the middle of the street in the 9600 block of Columbus Avenue, with a man in the driver's seat suffering from a single gunshot wound.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

According to the LAPD, surveillance video showed a suspect walking up to the car and firing multiple shots at the victim. The suspect, described only as a Hispanic man in his 20s, then ran away on Superior Street.

The victim was a 25-year-old Hispanic man, who was not yet identified, LAPD said.

The suspect is still at large and the motive is unknown. An investigation is ongoing, LAPD said.
