Neighborhood Welcomes Out of the Closet

The thrift shop sends most of its profits to HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment.

A long line of eager patrons stretched from the front door of the new Out of the Closet to a nearby alley on Saturday.

With a snip of the ribbon, the 23rd location of the thrift store owned and operated by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation was opened.

Nearly all of the chain's profits go toward HIV/AIDS research and prevention. Like all other Out of the Closet locations, the new one will offer HIV tests and have complimentary condoms available.
