North Hollywood Cooling Center To Remain Open Until Thursday

The record-breaking heatwave throughout Southern California is expected to continue this week.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — A cooling center in North Hollywood will remain open until Thursday as Los Angeles' record-breaking heatwave is expected to continue. Local residents craving a break from the scorching temperatures can head to Buena Vista Library for a breath of fresh air conditioning.

North Hollywood is expected to see more triple-digit temperatures this week. The National Weather Service forecasts a high of 102 on Tuesday, 98 on Wednesday and 98 on Thursday.

Capacity will be limited in order to maintain social distancing. The Department of Recreation and Parks urges area residents to call ahead of time to ensure there is space. You can call the Buena Vista Library at 818-238-5620.
