One pedestrian was killed Monday morning after being hit by an L.A. County Sheriff's Department transport bus on the northbound I-5 freeway. The crash happened around 3:20 a.m. at the Osborne Street exit in the middle of Arleta.Authorities say the man was struck by the bus in the number 4 lane, and died from his injuries at the scene. The condition of the bus driver and the cause of the crash were unknown. The bus was not carrying any prisoners at the time, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Peter Nicholson. A SIG alert was issued and expired around 8 a.m.City News Service and Kenan Draughorne contributed to this news report.
