Brandon Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson's Ex-Husband, Dies From Cancer: Reports

TOLUCA LAKE, CA — Brandon Blackstock, a talent manager and ex-husband of American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, has died after a battle with cancer, according to multiple news reports. He was 48.
Blackstock had been battling cancer for the last three years, according to a news report by Deadline. But over the last year, his condition worsened, Clarkson announced on Wednesday in an Instagram post.
"It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away," a family rep told PEOPLE in a statement. "He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time."

Clarkson said before Blackstock's passing that she'd be postponing her remaining Las Vegas concerts to look after their children.
"While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them," Clarkson said Wednesday. "I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding."

Blackstock was Clarkson's manager before their split. The couple, who lived in Toluca Lake, divorced in 2022 after nearly a decade together, and have two children together. He also has two other children from a previous marriage and had just became a grandfather in 2022, according to PEOPLE.
