More Details Released: Sears Employee Used 60 Cameras to Secretly Tape Women For 3 Years, Police Say

On April 18, the Los Angeles Police Department announced the arrest of employee Alejandro Gamiz, 27, who was accused of secretly taping women in the changing rooms and restrooms at the company's location in North Hollywood.

Few details about Gamiz' alleged crimes were released at the time, but now more are being reported. Acccording to the Reuters news agency, the LAPD believes Gamiz recorded women for around 3 years and had set up over 60 secret cameras.

Gamiz posted $20,000 bail and was released from custody while the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office reviews the case.

Investigators are not looking for additional victims because the statue under which Gamiz has been charged does not require the specific identity of individuals who were victimized.

However, according to Reuters, if at least one of the victims was a minor, depending on what the minor was doing on tape, Gamiz could arguably be liable for the creation and possession of child pornography.

At least three employees are suing Sears, according to MSNBC, and claim that Sears knowingly allowed the video recording to happen for up to four months before telling workers or police.
