Truck Fire On 210 Freeway Shuts Down Westbound Lanes For 9 Hours

Flames spread from the truck and moved close to homes in the area, the CHP reported.

LAKE VIEW TERRACE, CA — A truck fire on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Lake View Terrace shut down all westbound lanes just west of the Osborne Street on-ramp for more than nine hours before the freeway reopened early Sunday.

The truck fire was reported at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Flames spread from the truck and moved close to homes in the area, the CHP reported. The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to the scene.

The CHP issued a SigAlert and was diverting traffic off the freeway at Sunland Boulevard. One westbound lane reopened around 8:20 p.m. Saturday but the other lanes remained closed until 2:36 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

A news videographer at the scene said it appeared the big rig was loaded with athletic shoes.
