Missing 15-Foot Python Reunited With Owner In Chatsworth
A 15-foot python named Big Mama that had gone missing from her Chatsworth home on Independence Day has been found.
CHATSWORTH, CA -- A 15-foot python named Big Mama that had gone missing from her Chatsworth home on the 4th of July has been found.
The snake's owner, Alex Villata said the python's cage was not bolted and she escaped from her enclosure in the family's backyard.
After being missing for about a week, Big Mama was found at the home next door between two sheds, an area that had already been searched numerous times, Villata said.

Villalta said his neighbor came knocking on his door to tell him he may have found his snake. The python was unharmed, Villalta said.
The family says that they had initially checked the area where Big Mama was found, and they believe that she probably slithered over the wall of the neighbor's yard sometime between then and her location on Wednesday.

The day prior to her disappearance, Big Mama was fed a large frozen rabbit, so experts said it was very unlikely she'd prey on any other neighborhood animals while she was at large.
Instead, they believe that the cold blooded reptile was likely taking advantage of the warm weather.
