1 Rescued, 5 Displaced By Garage Fire At Oceanside Home

Officials said they found one adult in a rear bedroom.

OCEANSIDE, CA — Five people were displaced after a fire sparked in their home's garage in Oceanside, authorities said Wednesday.

Crews responded shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday to reports of a residential fire in the 240 block of Festival Drive, according to the Oceanside Fire Department.

Officials said they found one adult in a rear bedroom. The person was removed from the single-family home and evaluated by paramedics at the scene.

The blaze was contained to the garage, but the fire sent heavy smoke throughout the home, officials said.

The American Red Cross was called to assist the five adult residents.
