5 Oceanside Residents Ran at Boston Marathon, Site of Fatal Blasts, Many Injuries
Three Oceanside residents are listed as having finished race; two others have no finish times.
Five Oceanside residents took part in the Boston Marathon on Monday, with three finishing before explosions reportedly claimed the lives of three people and injured more than 100 near the finish line.
According to the Boston Athletic Association site, these Oceanside entrants had finished before the blasts, which TV showed happened about 2 hours after the start.
- Jim Goss, age 45, 3 hours, 39 minutes, 42 seconds (according to time between start of race and when they finished.)
- Cassidy Jones, 28, 3:33:15
- Diana Woodard, 51, 4:07:48
At 2:33 p.m. Pacific time, two Oceanside residents had no recorded finishing times, which could mean they were diverted away from the bomb scene. Both finished the 40 kilometer (24.8 miles) mark of the 26.2-mile race.

They were:
- Benjamin Barr, 45
- Kat Connor, 34
All marks are “gun times,” but not the actual times from start to finish, since many thousands of entrants don’t reach the starting line until minutes after the gun goes off.
