Dog Stabbed During Violent Family Fight in Oceanside

The dog was taken to a veterinary hospital and is expected to survive and recover.

Oceanside police are searching for a man who allegedly stabbed a dog amidst a fight with his mother, which took place about 9 p.m. in the 100 block of Myers Street on Monday.

Police said that the son and his mother were having a fight inside of their home. When the family's dogs got in the middle of the fight, the son allegedly took out a knife and stabbed one of the dogs. 

The dog was taken to a veterinary hospital and is expected to survive and recover. 

Police said the son left the scene and is currently being sought. Police added they intend to charge the man with animal cruelty.
