Fire At Camp Pendleton: 1,200 Acres Burn

The fire was burning Tuesday evening, military personnel said.

CAMP PENDLETON, CA — A fire was burning Tuesday at Camp Pendleton, according to military personnel, who said 1,200 acres had burned as of around 5 p.m.

"There is currently a fire within the whiskey impact area on Camp Pendleton," 2nd Lt. Jorin Hollenbeak said in an email. "Smoke may be visible, but there is no threat to personnel or structures."

The Camp Pendleton Fire Department was on scene and monitoring the blaze Tuesday evening.
