Oceanside Police Captain Arrested on Domestic Violence Charge: Report

OCEANSIDE, CA — Thomas Aguigui, an Oceanside Police Captain, has been arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor spousal abuse, according to a report in The San Diego Union-Tribune. Aguigui was arrested at his home in Fallbrook on Wednesday and has since been released. Oceanside police say the incident involved his wife.

The report says Aguigui has been placed on restricted duty within the department, and that the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is handling all criminal jurisdiction on this matter. No formal charges have yet been filed and no court date has been scheduled.
