Pedestrian In Crosswalk Fatally Struck By Truck In North County

VISTA, CA — A pedestrian walking in a crosswalk was struck and killed by a truck Wednesday in northern San Diego County.

The crash happened shortly before 5:15 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of East Vista Way and Townsite Drive in Vista, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

The man, who was in his 60s, was struck by a 2024 Ram 1500, the sheriff's office said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, a woman in her 30s, stayed at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor for either party, the sheriff's office said.
