Person Found Dead After Fire at San Luis Rey Mobile Home Park

The fire at 76 Hummingbird Lane in the San Luis Rey Mobile Home Park was reported shortly before 5:30 a.m.

A body was found in a burned mobile home in Oceanside today, authorities said.

The fire at 76 Hummingbird Lane in the San Luis Rey Mobile Home Park was reported shortly before 5:30 a.m., and the home was engulfed in flames when police and firefighters arrived about three minutes later, Oceanside police Lt. Ron Hardy said.

Public safety personnel evacuated surrounding homes, as firefighters put out the blaze. The body was found inside once the fire was out.

Neighbors said an older man lived in the mobile home, but his name was unavailable this morning, Hardy said.

How the fire started was not immediately known. Hardy said arson investigators were expected at the scene today.
