Crews Extinguish Fire In Oceanside Home's Garage
The home's occupants were evacuated and the electricity was shut off, according to the Oceanside Fire Department.
OCEANSIDE, CA — Crews extinguished a possible lithium ion battery fire early Thursday morning in a home's garage in northern San Diego County, fire officials said.
A neighbor reported the blaze at 4:15 a.m. after seeing flames coming from the garage in the 600 block of Tangier Court in Oceanside, according to the Oceanside Fire Department. The first fire engine arrived within five minutes, entered the garage and extinguished the flames.
The home's occupants were evacuated and the electricity was shut off, the department said. A ventilation fan was used to clear smoke from the two-story home and garage.

Reports from the Oceanside Police Department indicated a possible lithium ion battery fire, according the fire department. An investigator with the Oceanside Fire Department was on the scene trying to determine the exact cause of the fire.
