A St. Louis woman pleaded guilty on Tuesday to voluntary manslaughter charges stemming from a December 2012 incident in which her cousin was stabbed to death in Oceanside.

Lashauna Shatrell Blanks, 25, faces up to 11 years in prison for the charge, according to Deputy District Attorney David Bost.

Blanks is charged in the death of Jerry Faulkner, 35, a Las Vegas man who was killed in his mother's Oceanside condo on Los Arbolitos Boulevard.

According to U-T San Diego, Blanks got into an argument with Faulkner's girlfriend before the stabbing incident on Dec. 5. During her preliminary hearing in a Vista courtroom, Blanks admitted to stabbing Faulkner.

She is expected to be sentenced on Aug. 12.
