• Montebello duo arrested in connection with months-long organized mail thefts (keyt.com) — Residents in the Ojai area have been targeted in a months-long mail theft scheme focused on stealing checks from postal collection boxes, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office. Detectives from the Ojai Unit helped arrest two Montebello men accused of organizing the ring, and investigators say the stolen funds bought luxury cars used in the crimes while mailbox security is being tightened.
