2. Riverside police got a bum rap from columnist Walter Winchell (sbsun.com) — A history columnist revisits quirky Inland Empire stories, including Ontario kids who lost their only football when it got wedged on a passing car and an Ontario mom threatening to send her son’s new rifle “back to Santa” after he shot out a neighbor’s window. These lighthearted vignettes sit alongside tales of Prohibition-era booze mishaps and a misreported Hollywood animal shooting.

3. Ontario man arrested after allegedly shooting at car during road rage incident, CHP officers say (cbsnews.com) — A 45-year-old Ontario man was arrested after allegedly firing at another vehicle during a Dec. 4 road rage incident on the eastbound 10 Freeway near Euclid Avenue, according to CHP. No one was hurt, but investigators say they later found several unregistered and illegal firearms at his Ontario home, and he now faces multiple felony charges.

4. San Jose California Temple renamed the Sunnyvale California Temple (thechurchnews.com) — Ontario residents may soon see a new Latter-day Saint mission headquartered in the city, one of three new California missions planned for 2026. 5. Ontario development boom sparks movement to protect hospitality workers (dailybulletin.com) — Ontario’s City Council is set to decide Tuesday whether to send two voter-backed initiatives on hotel worker wages and safety to the ballot, amid a surge of major developments and convention center expansion.
