• Judge Denies $100K Settlement Bid by Father in Son's Death (mynewsla.com) — A wrongful-death lawsuit involving a boy who died at Children’s Hospital of Orange County is moving forward after a judge rejected a $100,000 settlement bid from his father as not shown to be in good faith. The child, who had chronic asthma, died in 2019 after allegedly being exposed to smoke while in foster care arranged through Los Angeles County’s child welfare system.
